Can you tell us what was cool in Japan like, 4 years ago? Want to stay ahead of the curve. (6)

Also, MS007's post mentioning reverse racism was the dumbest thing I've read on SF in awhile. Sorry dude.

It's a piece of shite. Don't get it. Especially, don't get it, have it slightly altered for a perfect fit (whilst simultaneously falling in love with your cute Polish female tailor), and then enjoy wearing it every chilly autumn day, or even on snowy winter days pretending you're George Mallory himself while the handwoven Harris Tweed keeps you warm and dry.

Shit, sorry man, I tried.

Nothing against Providence, but the potential for debauchery and adventure in a city filled with French-speaking women, fellow hockey lovers, and excellent indie music is a tremendously attractive fantasy for me at this point in time.

Having said that, the most racist places I have been to are Dubai and Hong Kong.  Eason can tell you all about HK and China, but in Dubai, I was horrified with the open discrimination against Africans and Asians (Indians, Filipinos, Malaysians, Chinese, etc).  I don't speak for multinationals, but if you have 2 resumes that are identical...except one is Mohammed Rafik (Malaysian) and the other is James Blair (British), James Blair will openly get the job in Dubai.  If asked why, the HR manager will openly say  "we want a white guy!  They're better, he'll do a better job, our clients will like him better".  It was an eye-opener for me when the fabled "muslim sense of felllowship and brotherhood" was right out the window in places like Dubai.  The hypocrisy was enough to change my politics.

I'll leave it to Eason to tell you how things work in China and Hong Kong.

As for continental Europe, things are all over the place.  There is some institutionalized racism in France, and France was in denial for the past few decades.  IMO France is fucked anyways and has much bigger problems...the least of their concerns is Mamadou from Clichy-sous-Bous doesn't have a job.

The UK is basically the most barbaric place on earth, just a bunch of snaggle toothed barbarians vomiting on themselves, the women being indistinguishable from the men. Oh and Dubai people are right, Malaysian can't even do photocopies without detailed instructions. Not that Dubai people would actually know as the're good enough to have sex with sheeps and not much else. Did I ever tell you my opinion on Texans? Or Chinese people? Scandinavians?

I imagine you've got it somewhat figured out but do you have Canadian citizenship or a visa that will allow you to live there?
