Just to confuse everyone, I sized up to a M (normally a S/36/46) and I think the fit is perfect..

^ laugh.gif I think the take-home message here is that Acne tees magically resize themselves to fit the wearer.

RFT: The ladyfriend might quit her day job to focus on starting her own business. It's the logical thing to do at this point, but shifting all of the household expenses over to me (instead of the current ~ 75% I'm covering now) means reduced ability to waste money on nice clothing. confused.gif

Fear not. I hear homemade fuzzy cat decal sweaters are a cash cow.

Not that I particularly care, but how is that any more less comical than this? Cause it originates from a bad poster, is that the only reason?

if you were walking down the street and saw the first two girls, you would double take, the two that AFL originally posted look pretty normal?

Venturing outside of SW&D sure is strange.

I get that some of the more fashion-forward stuff isn't everyone's cup of tea, but at least these looks are something different from what is already crammed down our throats by popular fashion media. I think that's my biggest problem with the direction that thread has taken. I know I know I know this is incredibly pretentious, but in my mind it's a little bit like going onto a photography forum and posting stock photos. Stock photos have their place, but it's seems like a waste to fill a whole SW&D thread with the kind of stuff that is already surrounding the "streetwear" style bubble.

Guess I could of chosen a more extreme version of what he has posted, but how its comical, one guy likes Polo Ralph Lauren 1930's shit and the other women in blazers/long sack dress/berets/leggings?

This would get praise then

Hehe, we can end it right here. I am just saying why give the other guy shit who doesn't care about being fashion forward and goes against the grain of your usual SWD mindset. That is all, to me they both look comical

The point isn't that they're dressed horribly. The point is that they're being posted because the fit into the bizarre golden-age nostalgia that makes up a fair number of "MC" (for lack of a better word) posters, who are focused on times when "Men were Men and Women were Women" without paying attention to any of the problematic social constructs that structure such a view, or the fact that said golden age didn't really exist. I make things up too, and I don't want to shit on other people's dreams or anything, but there's some really unpleasant shit going down in the HWYLAGTD thread. None of my fantasies involve catching women at inopportune moments with street vents blowing their skirts up around their ears, or bending over to pick things up - and I'm well aware they're rose-colored.

Every time I read the word "gentleman" I feel like I'm going to barf.
