1. Spend 1k to become an Autumn Monk
2. Can't run shit, clothes sit around & eventually flip them up on ebay 200% markup
3. ????
4. Profit!

Sorry man, but I was lusting heavily for a black lamb MDR. frown.gif

In other totally fashion-unrelated news, I just got back from the first hockey game of the season. We won 12-3 (against pretty much the worst team in the league; they really, really suck), and I got my first collegiate hat trick. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I also saw this chinese dude all heritage'd out, and I tried to tell him that his orange Cameraman was sweet. He really gave me a death stare, but his girlfriend (?) smiled at me, so I don't think he understood me.

saw this baller guy yesterday, first one I've ever seen in Uppsala I think, his outfit consisted of:
- really tight pair of black leather-pants that stacked  nicely

- black side-zips

- some tee with an all over flower-ish print, looked really expensive

- som oversized but yet trim and nice-fitting black blazer

he was cool rolleyes.gif

It seems lately like a lot of people's aesthetic on this forum is leaning towards SZ - not that there's anything wrong with that.

Saw a bunch of people wearing CCP, Rick, Lanvin, Margiela, etc yesterday, oh yeah those were the people I was having dinner with. Doesn't it feel sorta weird when fashunz is only confined to the internutz and your own wardrobe?

Might shock you to learn we are not all affluent New Yorkers.

I see a lot of regret in that man's future.

Dude, these are brands people here also wear, those friends aren't magical beings outside your reach and they wear stuff similar to what I have in my wardrobe anyway, my point was that it seems hard to sustain such a hobby if you don't have other people who appreciate it in your life. A lot of the posters here seem to NEVER see the garments they're interested in unless they procure them, which sounds a little bit disheartening.

It is disheartening, but it's not exactly by choice, either ...

Saw a bunch of awful cats in various states of ailing health ranging from barely alive to long dead all pissing and shitting everywhere fighting for scraps of food in a rundown apartment full of garbage, oh yeah those were the people I was having dinner with. Doesn't it feel sorta weird when you don't have a wardrobe full of sweatpants that say "#1 CAT MOMMY" on the distended ass still stained with the menstrual blood from when you could still ovulate and would sometimes leave this decaying prison of your own making but now you don't and the only voice you hear is your own as you hoot and holler at the mail?

I was at a birthday party for a friend with a bunch of people from my university yesterday. They were all wearing H&M Brooks Brothers and J Crew with thick rimmed glasses. The circles I frequent are generally composed of people who care how they look, but don't give a shit about "fashion". Comments on what I was wearing ranged from homeless to dapper homeless. IIRC I was wearing Rick x3, Silent x2, Dior, Yurman and Doc Martens. And honestly, I kinda prefer it that way, when noone recognizes expensive clothing or gives a shit.

I don't feel compelled to draw people into a conversation about how it costs so much to look so cheap, even when they are being a bit dickish. I just genuinely enjoy the aesthetic, and more than anything no longer following the norms and trends that have permeated my social circle. Sure, its nice when some random guy every 6 months recognizes that a lot of thought was put into an outfit, but for the most part I'm content chuckling at the kids telling me I look like shit and moving on to more interesting subjects of conversations.

In short, fashion in Isolation is still an enjoyable pursuit. I haven't articulated it very well, but I'm sure these sorts of experiences are common for a lot of people out there and on SF. Any super steezy dudes from bumfuck nowhere out there?
