belt hell is a place where every belt you try on fits in between the holes.

I picked up some Blake welted shoes in Paris. I just tried to parse through the last couple pages and I think I have begun to get the differences between the methods. I bought these, honestly, because I liked the shape. But I also knew the Blake method was going to give me a sleeker shoe overall, even if I wasn't sure exactly how the process varied -- I knew basically that Blake shoes were stitched under the main body of the shoe instead of on the outside. I also knew that therefore the Blake method isn't as waterproof, but I live in LA, so who cares.

I went to Europe for a wedding and I brought with me my until-now only pair of black captoes which I'm pretty sure are corrected grain leather. I was hoping to find something better to replace them with before the wedding, and luckily I did. Here they are side by side:

When I got my shoes back from perry's I spent an hour examining how amazing the vibram work was.  My mom was wierded out by me stroking my boots for so long, but he did such an amazing job compared to some that I had done in NYC. He even found a replacement sole for these  In fact the dude says he gets shoes shipped to him from both coasts, crazy.

The more I look at marginal boots, the more I'm convinced I need a pair.

I'm not a shoe snob by any means, so I'm just going to go ahead and say: Damn, those are some nice-ass shoes. Who cares which welt technique is used on which? I don't haha

Any recommendations for trousers that meet the following requirements:

- black/grey
- slouchy
- wool / wool blend
- not low rise
- not too much taper at bottom (wide leg)

Basically Yohji on a budget shog[1].gif Something like these ones Guy Burgess posted:

I tried out a pair of these Christian L’Enfant Roi trousers and they are too narrow at the bottom so they will be going on the B&S shortly

From what I've tried on, most of their trousers are pretty slim + low-rise. Do you know of any cuts that are on the baggier side?

Oh really?  Ed just posted some that were bigger in waywt, but maybe you're looking for something baggier?  DVN and raf do some really full cut stuff but they won't be cheaper than yy
