Also why the fuck is yoox charging me tax all of a sudden.

They did that to me a few days ago

...and then refunded it as soon as my order shipped

Weird

Yeah had a few recs from bdeuce22 (where is he anyway) and clarinetplayer over in MC, I'll check my PM and let you know tonight

ok - Ali in Dbo and Shahin Clothing & Custom Tailoring in AA

Re: the latter, MC dude said he "had a MTM suit made. This guy is a perfectionist. A bit cranky to deal with, he, nevertheless, is an artisan. His shop is very plain and little dowdy. But, he is highly regarded."

It's still made by Dita IIRC but not branded as so anymore.  Real nice stuff but still a bit overpriced, although that's to be expected.

because sometimes you just want to wear ralph lauren and j crew at the same time but you can't find any specific Cool Classic Timeless Menswear Style Rules that explain how to mix the two

one of my first jobs was actually working at Dita when they first started. it was in a downtown warehouse and there were only 3 employees.. the owner, one guy that actually put together the frames and lenses and another doing distribution stuff. My job was basically glueing logos on the frames (and holding them down with my thumbs for like 10 minutes..awful), etc. at the time they were building all of the frames for hurley while getting ready to launch their own stuff. I didn't last long there (ok I got fired for just bullshitting with celebs that would come in for fittings rather than working), but about two years later they became this huge high fashion brand with stores on melrose.

not sure how they make their stuff now, but i still haven't bought any of their overpriced glasses because of how cheap their manufacturing and practices were.

I figure they've got the manufacturing automated overseas.. i know the owner brought other people in and merged so it makes sense.

edit: actually, its also possible they just ordered all the parts from japan and built them in their warehouse.

off topic.. of course. What's with the RG Bauhaus shit... are there still that many fans around? Would any of them even wear something like geller? Would you even want it to be known on a t-shirt?

Kind of reminds me of a knit Mishka kraftwerk sweater from 4-5 years ago. Like any of those bmx kids are even into old electronica...

Maybe it's just about putting cult bands onto shirts, but why not put on something more obscure... Pretty soon we'll have a MMM queen shirt, or a Nirvana shirt by wings and horns.

I still listen to Bauhaus, or more accurately, I should say I now listen to Bauhaus. Got into them maybe 3-4 years back. I figure it's one of those obscure enough band references that the vast majority of the populace, especially those who are of Geller's target demographic, won't know anything about them and thus it's "cool".

I do have to say that dumpling places naming themselves Bao Haus (I know of one each in NYC and Madison, WI, neither not related in any way) will always get the thumbs up from me.

Which shirts are you talking about? I only remember seeing the all we ever wanted was everything shirt from last season or two.. are there others?

They're one of my favorite bands so I don't mind representing, although i'd rather see a Tones on tail or Love and rockets shirt
