This is not necessary true.

Was in the H&M in SF location and they have some good tapered charcoal sweats and black drop crotch shorts in a sweat shirt material. Was about to pick them up but they would not let me wear them out.

I don't know about the H&M in your location, but here in Chicago I see Cabourn camera man jacket knock offs, some Junya reference, lots of 70% off Marni, some Balmain reference, and a cheetah print sweatshirt that I wanted to buy but too tight on me.

The word trendy that applies to fast fashion,I think only works for womenswear. When speaking about menswear, words that come to mind are: traditional, heritage, sartorial, etc. Just like I mentioned earlier, guys buy clothes that they can wear many times for a long time like a TOJ leather bomber for example. However for girls, they always like a new outfit or a new look a la Dior.

Yeah.

I was not about to make a purchase then walk back into the changing room and put them on.

the floor is dirty with lint and dust etc. and i become a sweaty mess with their bright lights shining in your face.

I avoid stores at all cost. Power to e-purchasing.

FWIW I think I'd be one of the coolest store managers, but if you steal from me I'm going to hunt you down. Not sure how difficult it is to swing around the other side of the cashier table and have them take the 'beeper' off. Finish Line let me behind the counter when they had no idea what Nike Flyknit was and I was able to search their database with the SA.

speaking of this... why is it that so many stores insist on making the changing room lighting as unflattering as possible?

Idk man, I'm probably around the age of some of the people featured on that blog (as are a lot of other forum members) and I bought all my own shit. It wasn't even an irresponsible portion of my budget... clothes aren't that expensive, even designer clothes, especially compared to something like a car which you don't need living in NYC.
