Is there any good reason why iWhatever cannot just work off of USB?

I have done this. The results have been extremely positive.

I just want to send out a big fuck you to Modern Tailor. I purchased the test shirt from them and I thought I had screwed the measurement since it fit weigh too tight. No it just turns out that they didn't even come close to getting the measurements right. I figure, well they built and sent me the shirt for $30, I'm sure they just rushed it. Then I purchased a shirt a regular price. The fabric is absolute shit and clearly does not match the swatch from the sample book AND they fucked up the measurements again.

I realize I could contact them and if I complain enough they will remake the shirt, but I'd much rather they just make it right the first time.

That sucks, sorry to hear. I've heard to many bad reviews on MT and for online MTM in general so I avoid like the plague. For the frustration, I always felt it would be easier getting a cheap OTR that fits in the shoulders and chest, and letting a tailor nearby handle the rest. I'm lucky enough not to have an issue finding shirts that fit me well off the rack, but if I ever go MTM, I'm giving my business and support to my local tailor.

My issue is that I have really sloping shoulders. As such I've never really been able to find shirts where the material doesn't bunch up around the armpits.

tl;dr.  He went on about the ipod shuffle forever and I lost interest.  But I guess the main point is that iphones and other more advanced apple devices need more connectivity than a tradition usb or micro usb can provide, which can now be done in a smaller 19 pin connector rather than the traditional 30 pin apple connectors, where each pin is dedicated for throughputting a unique type of data

seems like new connector is actually 9 pin

and why do they need to upgrade their technology?

To make more money.

yes, apple develops new products which it hopes will entice users enough to spend money for them -- even if they already own existing apple products
