Also I don't know about making this about "room for your johnson". The best jeans IMO are with medium rise and taper through the leg, worn sagged. That way the legs are slim but the crotch is relaxed.

Yeah I actually agree with this.

Can someone recommend a pair of medium rise + tapered jeans? I'm guessing APC New Standard but I tried them on and tbh, I didn't like them that much (too saggy below the knee, I sized down like 3 too).

I have a pair of LVC 1954z. Medium (like 13") rise, pretty generous top block and tapers down to about 7.25 on a size 33. 13.5 oz.
Absolutely love them. Bought 3 years ago and were my first raws. Fades are nice.

Roll them up twice and they look good. Def look better worn than completely raw, though. Think that goes for all relaxed fitting jeans.

maybe look into the Petite New Standard that just came out? Haven't looked at measurements but on the surface looks like it could offer a decent fit

^ I asked about these at the apc store yesterday, they said it's simply a shorter version of the petit standard (and therefore, less tapered). they are a seasonal variant that does not come in raw indigo, but in different fabrics like corduroy or lightweight/washed denim.

Raindrop, you could get the new standards tapered, that's what i've done.. or i find that uniqlo t-000 are kind of mid-rise if you go TTS.

hmmm the page at oipolloi (http://www.oipolloi.com/apc-petit-new-standard-dry-indigo) sure makes it seem like they're raw denim. I have a pair of the PS, and like them, but the legs are definitely quite skinny so that's why this model has me intrigued

ahahaha no effing way

I thought petite standards and petite new standard were the same thing. The PNS have been out for a while so I just assumed they were the same.

I like them tapered as well, and you pretty much described the way I wear jeans. I am currently using RRL Slim fits (sized down 1) and Jean Shop Skinny fits (which are not really skinny at all, sized down none,) for a little loose and quite loose, respectively. 7.25" is pretty tapered for a pair of size 33 jeans though. I'd probably wear a size 32, and normal grading would make those about 7.1" at the ankle. I don't have particularly large legs, but I suppose that I don't have chicken legs, because at that degree of taper, the jeans would be nearly skin tight on my calves.

Jet, sorry, I should have been more specific. I forgot that for you, loose means JNCO sized up 3.

interesting. the measurements given there seem bizarre though: a size 30 has a hem of 6.5. that would be a half inch narrower than my size 30 ps.

and Fok, i think i agree, although it's of course dependent on one's physique. I've been working out more recently and think broad-ish upper body combined with very skinny/tapered jeans looks off.

I'm wearing a pair of light Cloak jeans in size 30 meaning I need a belt (size 30 are maybe 31-32) and wear them slouchy, legs are really slim but I guess it is the same attitude (slouchy top block and legs that don't have a legging effect). I dunno but I sorta find it is how you should wear jeans most of the time.

If those are from 2004, then I know exactly the pair that you are talking about. I have a pair of 34 in the grey canvas pants from that year that are really cool, and super loose. A true stovepipe leg with no taper. I think that if I could, I could breakdance in those things. I wear those the rare times I am not wearing jeans, and they have a pretty cool silhouette with a slim sportsjacket. I feel like a DJ in Ibiza in about 1999. I feel like maybe I should have some aviators on, inside, in the dark.
