Lol, great bed posts. I just need something simple with medium firmness. Never had a foam mattress or mattress topper and I've slept fine my whole life. Unlike Bows who is stepping up his game, I'm transitioning to Ikea grad school living.

I also love Target sheets.

This is a great 2007 New York TImes Magazine article on the "sleep industrial complex," which has conned Americans into overpaying for mattresses: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/18/magazine/18sleep-t.html?pagewanted=all

It's a long read, but really worth it. Combine this with Fuuma's similar, but pithier remarks, and all StyleForum members can have their mattress-consciences raised.

Pun intended?

Anyone used MoneyPak to add money to your Paypal account before? Seen some really strange horror stories involving indefinite holds on funds.

Thanks, The Thin Man. I'll give it a read. Frankly, I think (almost) the whole furniture industry is bullshit. I'm nearly at the point where my entire house is full of vintage second-hand furniture that is infinitely nicer and cheaper than the shit found in most furniture shops today.

^ Yes, then think of what the housing industry produces. We're truly at the ass end of the Industrial Revolution.

Honestly, the Hotel Collection at Macy's are a really great sheet. Had a set for a few years now and I still look forward to putting that set on our bed as opposed to the other sets we have.

If you want to treat yourself (#treatyoself) to a slightly expensive luxury, buy the pillows. Bought a pair when I got married and they aren't what they were, but they are still waaaaaay better than any other pillow I've used.

Plus one, I look forward to replacing most of the pieces of furniture I own with older more well-built pieces.

As for Biggskip in the Big Apple update, I took the wife to do some jewelry shopping on 47th street. Went to go pick up the piece that my wife had picked out and the store was locked up because Nelly was doing some shopping inside.

Tomorrow is big shopping day. Will probably start out at Century 21 around 9:00. On recommendation from Bows I'll hit up Cafe El Portal around noon for lunch and libations. If you're in the area, all are welcome to join.

After you check out Century 21, be sure to head over to ebay, our classifieds, etc and see if anything looks familiar.

After my first time, it was hilarious to see how many folks were trying to flip their finds (usually with huge markups).

Hendrix already nominated it.

Read the rest of the forum, even this one. Yes, it was nominated, and it even co-won.

Infinite thumbs up. Firm mattresses are the way to go. Only pussies need thirty five inches of foam to cushion their bloated bodies at night.

It goes on sale - you can find it on sale at Barney's regularly.

The retardo chunky cashmere stuff or the tees and basics?

If anybody sees one of these kicking around some Neiman's Last Call for three or four hundo, you know who to call. nod[1].gif
