Looks like all the ballers in the Bay came out to play/test drive. The car looks real good on the road, jelly

Damn toasty you live in Fremont too. I live up the hill from the Tesla plant, saw a couple Tesla's driving home today. I didn't even know about the test drive event they had.

Lol at people that think hydrogen will take off before electricity (a thing we already have)

Lol at people who think anything that runs on batteries can be a long-term solution!

The video I posted goes over this but the bottom line is hydrogen fits the "fill-up-and-go" requirement; charging batteries does not (plus longevity is highly questionable). When the car was first invented, there was no gasoline infrastructure either but when you need something like that, you'll see it tends to spring up fast.

If battery-powered electric cars win out over hydrogen-powered ones, it'll be VHS winning over Betamax all over again.

There's a greater incentive to create better batteries, as they are what's holding back a lot of industries right now...

why not? batteries are going to get cheaper and better. range of a tesla is already 300 miles or so which is comparable to a regular car. electricity is far more energy efficient than burning gasoline directly. hydrogen also has a far worse distribution problem than electricity. you can already charge your car in an hour or two at an rv park anywhere

hydrogen costs are still so astronomic that it's unfeasible and we've been researching it for a long time

even switching out battery packs will be a cheaper easier solution than installing hydrogen fuel cell stations

Yeah same here, I was getting desperate. satisfied.gif definitely more annoying to use though - can't wait till it gets back up.

Just bought my first hydrogen powered 'Rari!

Excited!

Battery powered cars are like mini discs a fad that will catch on for real.

There's a lot of problems with battery powered cars f.ex. production and recycling of the batteries, fuel range, fill up time etc etc and as long the power on the grid isn't green, they are pointless, petrol or coal, what is best.

There's a couple other here and now options gas and e85, e85 is available on almost every petrol station in germany, Sweden etc.
It's just a matter of getting your to run on it, the city busses in Sweden f.ex. run on gas create from composte.

We have the tech to implement hydrogen, but I think oil lobbyist are working against it, so it will take a while for it to get here, sadly.

it's not really pointless even if you indirectly gain energy from coal and petrol because conversion to electricity is far more efficient than direct combustion of said fuels.

and pretty much besides fill up time the same problem plagues hydrogen. and we might have the tech but we don't have the money

I like my cars to be fueled with gas. Smells better too.
