This. Mr. Porter has some nice stuff, really nice stuff in fact. But nothing there really catches my eye or makes me feel like that I have to have it. I can take it or leave it 99% of the time. Maybe it's just that their buys are too conservative for my tastes, but I prefer ln-cc or even ssense.

I found a ninja turtle coin purse from my childhood the other day. Shaped like a tiny backpack and has a keychain on the end. Used it everyday at school. Easily the best thing I own.

That is true..Mr. Porter has A LOT of nice basics..

But when you already have basics, it fails to excite, no room in the closet..

The most desired basics were already gone before the sale started (ex- white cp achilles low was already 95% sold out ). That said, their free shipping & returns makes it a good opportunity to try out new brands.

But yeah, they have pretty boring buys, though from the whole vibe I get from Mr. Porter...it doesn't really surprise me. I don't feel like their goal is to appeal to people with very forward tastes or appear very interesting, but more to go after the guy who works in an office and just wants to pick up a well made (but boring) shirt/pants/lace-ups. All I ended up grabbing was a pair of LVC 605's (I've been searching for some faded denim for the summer) and a Saturdays Surf zip hoodie for lounging/laziness.

Edit: also, it's probably worse because its summer... spring/summer stuff is never as exciting as F/W

it's the slim fit. maybe I'll just try a current season on and hope the fit is the same. don't see why it would vary too much. merci.

That said, I still have my eye on that Kolor blazer, the Jean Shop moto jacket, and the YSL towelling jacket. Mr.Porter is obviously a "cool dad" store though. Nearly everything is styled in the most boring way possible. Making a YSL towelling jacket with a big ass shawl collar look like a casual Friday piece is actually a styling feat.

I really like LN-CC, but their buys are pretty limited. SSense is gigantic, which is its strength. The styling can be somewhat lacking though.

Lol, that's actually a good way to describe it.
