Oh and according to this chart adults buy a new car about once every 3 years.  That sounds incredibly frequent, I would think at least 5-6 years is more likely.

baller baby, or you just looking for a beater? (awful joke...booooo)

Odd that 19% of respondents predict that they won't eat out a single time in the next 6 months.

yeah, asking people to predict their behavior sounds like a recipe for inaccuracy. it would be better to actually monitor their purchases for six months, but that's, you know, time-consuming and expensive

Itappears to be based on number of people who will purchase, not total count of purchases taking into account purchase frequency... thus clothes beats booze.

There was a couple year span where my average car buy period was less than 6 months. I'm pretty settled now, though it wouldnt hurt to sell about two.

On any given day the chance of me buying alcohol is greater than 65%.

Am I old fashioned for expecting someone to at least acknowledge me having won an ebay auction if they aren't going to mark it as "sent" sometime the next day?

Example: "Congrats on winning. I will try to send X this week".

yes

I never expect a 'personal' message.........as long as they upload tracking I'm fine with that.

Handling time is specified in the shipping info. Try reading the whole auction terms next time. Expecting next day shipment from anyone not running a business is ridiculous.

Of course, I don't expect next day shipping, only the courtesy of knowing that the seller has seen that I've won. I just think that it gives one a feeling of security knowing that the seller is taking care of their end of the deal-

^Pretty much everybody uses smartphones now, they know their auction has ended and when you pay. Don't sweat it man

I always ship next day, with ebay or B&S shog[1].gif

I do my best, but I'm not making a special trip for a $10 tie. Recent shipments have been anywhere from 12hours to 4 days, just depends when I get paid relative to my post office trips. It also matters what one's work hours are and how far it is to the post office for people too.

That is, at least for my part, not a problem, so long as a seller says "Look, I am suddenly busy this week and will be at the soonest able to send it at this date". My problem is not how fast it is sent (they could send it next week for all I care!), but rather the lack of communication on the part of a seller with whom I am currently dealing with, who has, in my opinion, a responsibility to inform a buyer of when they will send their item. This takes less than a minute.

I don't contact any of my buyers on eBay. It's pretty much assumed everything is processing normally unless it's been an unreasonable period of time. Ebay sends emails every step of the way so I think people don't feel the need to communicate further. I hate when buyers when an auction and I don't hear anything for a week while waiting on payments ffffuuuu.gif it works both ways I guess.
