This is seriously one of the funniest things I've seen in a loooong time.

I'm still laughing 10 minutes later.

If you look at the beginning of the WAYWT thread (2010) and it's pretty clear that this is not the case.

longtime lurker

Just seems that a lot of the hyped aesthetic is very reminiscent of j lindberg, filippa k, acne jeans around 2007-2008

Uh, no. 2008 was about wurkwear, which is about gone from the forum. And SF 2007 was a Jurassic, primordial time, about which 98% of the current forum knows nothing.

and lol, u r a sock

imo SF is far different from what it was 3-4 years ago. Like DL said, workwear and mid-tier brands were mostly dominant during that time. Runway designers and Japanese brands really weren't talked about that much. Now there's a greater focus on high-tier labels and "baller" items.

Does this mean SF will progress to a high-end designer norm?

I don't think so. That would require that a lot of people either stop posting or start spending a lot more money on clothes. Clearly still a lot of dudes on here rocking low to mid-tier stuff with no plans to jump into high fashion any time soon. I think most SFers wardrobes are probably largely mid-tier with some real high-end pieces in there.

We all wish we could kop high-end shit for dayz but it's just not economically feasible considering the demographics on SF.
