Really hate that feeling after you loose an auction and feel the need to spend the money you already mentally allocated for that item on something else.

+1. It tends to end up poorly. Best to just suck it up and put a higher max bid than you wish but it's a very hard mentality to overcome...I certainly haven't done it.

Hoped the seller would drop the price a bit after it sat on eBay for months but he/she actually increased the price by 40 Pounds.

Oh, wow. Thanks, guys!

Such a shame it's overpriced. This might be a good time to bring my tailor a fistful of leather and ask her to do wacky things. (If possible, I see a navy knock-off in my future, as well happy.gif )

It's amazing how the Abercrombie thread on RFD has 500+ pages and is still going strong..the poll also shows >10% of the people have spent $1000+...facepalm.gif

$1000 is like two seasons of new clothes for somebody's college kid (which is not to say it's wise to spend it at Abercrombie).

They have nice realistic fades and with a small amount of taper they will fit perfect. For what it's worth, if you guys are looking for nice worn denim for this summer definitely look into vintage Levi's. Most the retailers offer them for under $40 depending on the vintage year and the quality of the fades and sizing. I'm a little worried that they will be too dad jean, but with a small tailor job I can get them looking pretty modern. Hopefully I'm not blowing the spot and increasing the incredibly reasonable prices on the made in usa levis, but its worth knowing.
The jeans I picked up:

are you going to taper below or above the knee. Thinking of doing the same
post #56636 of 109053
Normally I'd just taper below the knee with 501's, but these seem to be a little bit roomier in the thigh than most levis so I might take it in almost all the way up to the seat. If I do feel like it's necessary to take it up that far, it might be beneficial to just hit up a tailor as I don't have a serger right now and wouldn't like the extra fabric. I'll let you know what I end up doing and will try to snap some pics with how it turns out.

I wouldn't slim above the knee, don't ruin the 501 cut.

You can always buy slim-straight jeans for...slim-straight fit.

taper it if you want. who cares.
