i use phantombidder

That doesn't follow logically at all. It's regular (early) bidding that becomes pointless when everyone snipes.

But if you actually put the maximum amount you are willing to spend on that item, it doesn't matter when you make the bid. You either end up the highest bidder or someone that was willing to spend more gets the item.

yeah doesn't the max bid thing negate sniping?
right, it just comes down to who will pay the most.

sniping use to afford the user the ability to get the item for cheaper. because you would come in by surprise and up-bid the previous bidder by $0.50 or whatever. now it's just whoever put the highest max bid.

I guess sniping ends up being good for the sellers.

But I think the point is if that you're not using a sniping tool, you'll usually lose the bid unless you overpay, right? Kinda like nuclear weapons.... the U.S. is probably never going to use them again but they can't get rid of them while others still have some.

I think there's a certain amount of excitement in sniping that might make others pay a little more for an item than they were initially willing. If the market commands a higher price for something, I'm usually willing to pay a little more for something than I initially thought it might be worth.

So, my early bid price and sniping price aren't always the same.

Why doesn't Svensson get more love on this forum? From what I can tell, they make great looking wool and cashmere sweaters with interesting knits and simple shoes for reasonable prices, all MII.

I bought a canvas ll bean tote to haul gear to bike races, and the quality is super high, made in the usa. Design isn't horribly exciting, pretty pedestrian, but i'm guessing they're a much better value than totes from "fashun" companies, assuming the americana/workwear type of thing fits into your aesthetic.

Like tween said, availability is probably a big factor. I can't think of any U.S. retailers that carry the line. Designs seem pretty nondescript, too. Not the sort of thing people get hyped up about.

Basic design, good quality should be enough to get their foot in the door tho

They're pretty bombproof. I've been using one for about 15 years, and it's still going strong. It's currently holding all of my small ski gear.
