I have a total n00b question and I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I need your input foo.gif

My opening ceremony corduroys say dry clean only. The damn things are just 100% cotton corduroys. Is the dry clean only warning because they are like $350 or something stupid and they don't want you to mess up the shape or fabric by machine washing them?

I feel like there should be no problem washing them on a delicate cycle in cold water with mild detergent..

Similar question - I have a 100% cotton Yigal shirt, same deal.  It seems to be just a blue shirt with no treatment.  I don't dry clean my shirts who am I Romney?

I'd be careful with that since washing shirts can mess up a lot of things - shrink them in strange ways, warp the collar, make them wrinkly in a weird way or mess up the placket, etc.

And thanks gdl, I guess that makes sense. I've washed other pairs of cords tons of times so I guess I might as well do the same with these.
