Went to all the famous big department stores in London today (Harrod's, Selfridges, Liberty, etc), saw a lot of really hyped/great brands. Selfridges had by far the best shit, Harrod's was embarrassingly bad clothing-wise (but the food was tasty).

Discovered a great brand too, Sandro. Really nice cut/simple color patterns, good weight and quality materials, and reasonable prices (especially some of the sale stuff). Dunno why this brand doesn't get any love, really great stuff. Got a murdered out varsity with leather sleeves, was 50% off.

We shot a little thing with Martin Greenfield today at the Ace Hotel and he couldn't have been nicer. He even gave my gf a big hug and kiss on the forehead when we left.

I have a T/M shirt that I really like as well, so soft
Everything I've ever seen from T/M has been great. I don't know where they source their fabrics from, but it feels like its lined with kittens.

What's all this, then?

What's the consensus – if one exists – on dark denim and loafers for a dressed-up casual look? Laughable try-hard combination? or legitimately interesting pairing? I feel like I can picture it looking really fucking cool... but then I realize that they're loafers. And denim. And perhaps it's better/easier to just stick to brogues or sneakers. I dunno – someone step in and tell me if that just sounds ridiculous.

I would tend to agree with you... there are too many "rules" and altho' this isn't one of them it comes w/ certain conventions or expectations. Ya it could look cool if done right (depending which jeans & loafers). Wait 5 mins.... someone else will inevitably disagree....

Plus side is that PG mentioned he's thinking about more Junya + CDG now.

I think he'd look good in Junya twisted-trad style. It's a logical step from his current casual rigs.

Eh, it would look very "piti party queerbait" imo. I accidentally bought a pair of loafers before when still indoctrinated by GQ thinking they were the perfect shoe to go with anything. No, they're ugly and go with nothing. Leather loafers look bad with any kind of denim, skinny or not. Suede w/o socks and skinny jeans might look fashionable but only in a eurotrash way.

Are you a photographer? I'm always needing more people to hire for my shoots/projects

The word interesting is the new swagger.
