i met the buyer for that nordstroms when i was ultra-copping margiela there. he pointed out to his buddy some crappy/fugly sweater (i think it was michael kors) and said 350 dollars was a great deal for a cashmere sweater from said designer. i wouldn't hold much hopes for RO. also, they are not going to carry MMM anymore. next summer (ss11) they are going to carry some lanvin.

I dunno about the Margiela. They got even more since you came, their buy is on par with a number of the places I went to in NYC (although you can't really compare since each place has different pieces...) The Bastian knit buy was nice too, love that Cucinelli cashmere. Shoe buys have been piss poor the past two seasons

4 Paul Smith models, 2 of which are sneakers, and none of them are ones I'd pick up They've also been getting more pieces in small sizes (Givenchy trench in 46
bounce2.gif
too bad it's sized for over-suit wear)

yeah their MMM stuff there was awesome when i was there. so much better than jack straw's MMM, who rarely even carries anything below size it50 (

WTF) and charges $750+ for trickers boots (

WTF).

i think the guy said FW10/11 was going to be their last season of MMM, or maybe it was SS11...cant remember. but i went right after they had just received winter stuff so perhaps they hadn't even gotton it all in yet. i should call them and have them send me pics of everything.

What's worse is I think like 99% of people to ever buy Yoko Deveraux before it failed the first time weren't paying retail anyways. Yoko D constantly had like 70% off sales, which is when everyone would buy their stuff. I know I never, and would never, pay retail for Yoko D.

Basically. It takes some time and a handful of mistakes, not something that just happens overnight.

Lurked SF and SuFu like a motherfucker for about three years. Still dress terribly by SF standards but do okay compared to the general public. Just realized I threw on a Jil colorblock sweater to hang out at a bar and no one here could give a ****. I blame Jet.

I know what you mean. Although if you learn from your mistakes, the money isn't entirely wasted.
