I like the conceptual idea of a sneaker with a heel.

Will we all soon be paying sales tax on internet purchases?

A movement is slowly building in Washington to banish one of the biggest perks of shopping online: not paying sales tax.

That's because the perk has also cost states as much as $23 billion in lost revenue by some estimates, and they want it back. Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-Mass.) this morning enlisted Republican South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds (R) and other state lawmakers to rally support for his proposed Main Street Fairness Act, which would make it easier for states to go after the money.

Some quarters call this the "Amazon tax."

Have fun with that... should be absolutely hilarious to see them try to work that into tax treaties on a withholding model and deal with the international implications. Would be complicated enough to implement if they were only charging it to domestic purchases.

I rarely pay more than 10$ in customs, you really have to hammer it out with the seller beforehand. **** when I bought that MJ leather I actually asked them to ship with a NAFTA declaration for source reasons. If you're buying retail online you need a friend to proxy, usually shipping is free within US so you're still only paying one shipping charge. Yoox supposedly doesn't smash anyone with duty and it hasn't happened to me yet, but it still makes me nervous ordering from there.

That dress code is so ubiquitous I thought the only way to stand out was to buy a bunch of button-downs in different patterns and colors. You're really better off keeping the shirts simple and mixing in some sportcoats or knits when it's cooler.

Thanks, I'm not sure why I had to ask but I've seen them worn unbuttoned before and while they didn't look exactly bad I figured I'd ask the experts! I plan on keeping it simple, making sure the fit is spot on and adding knits in a couple months when it cools off.

So, on gilt there is a diesel sale today, and some of the jeans have a retail price of $810. So, is gilt the ones inflating the retail price, or does diesel really want people to pay $810 for said pair of jeans.
