I think I'm going to hem another 1.5-2" off my denimz. I always leave them cuffed at least once, so I might as well hem that one cuff off. That way I can leave them uncuffed to stack, one cuff for no break and roll them/cuff twice if I want them to be cropped.

I feel like it's also impossible to separate out the influence that personal connections have. Not that Spurr and Ervell don't have friends, but Bastian has been around forever and probably knows pretty much everyone. I'd love to think that it's strictly about design, but I don't think that would be realistic.

How is bastian still in business? Du is the garbagest designer on the planet.

I used to bring a flask with me to shows at the Black Cat (they never seemed to serious about their pat-downs, if they even did them). Order one whiskey on the rocks, heavy on the rocks, and refill from there for low-cost rock-show fun.

FWIW, I lived in a hippie co-op in college, so not exactly fratty, and my flask was a super-cheap touristy number (it had a picture of the White House or something) that I bought at a CVS.

Haha, this surprises me for some reason. No offense intended, of course..

I bought my dad a Filson flask with the leather outside but pretty much commandeered that right from him about a year ago...about once every couple months I'll have a flaskable occasion..

Ha ha, none taken. I was also a lightweight rower, which I assume is less surprising.

Also, it looks like I still have the flask, and it has the presidential seal with "Washington, DC" scrawled below it, not a picture of the White House.

It's seen plenty of Old Overholt in its day.
