I dont know of any database that doesn't support this. At the least you could use a simple query cache that caches the results of who is currently browsing; set the cache's time to live to like 5 minutes and you should be fine.

I have no idea. I do... zero percent of the technical work. But apparently, this is the same reason that the user list on the front page is not in alphabetical order. I suppose that if jet were really intrepid, he could see who is viewing SW&D by clicking on every individual user on the from page. Our traffic and the size of the database has outgrown our resources, so we are on that, but there is a bunch of work to do.

Agreed. You can always put on more clothes in the cold, but you can only take off so much in the heat.

I can't remember the first page of SW&D having this many terrible threads on it as there are today.

More and/or warmer clothes, I should've said. Point is, you can maintain body heat somehow even in subfreezing temperatures, but there's not much you can do to get comfortable in blistering heat and high humidity.

It's fun to bring bad colloquialisms back, like 'wicked' which I picked up in Boston years ago, and applies really well when other words just don't work. In Philly, 'Yo' and 'jawn' are accepted without question, or assumed irony. 'Groovy' should always be in circulation. I'm on the fence about 'rad' though. But I was talking about the outfit. Is that **** supposed to be funny? Statement?

Yeah, but I'm actually curious why people care who's online on this forum. If it's important to you, block them or get their private email. Or am I missing something here?

Goth Ninja or James Bond? 'Cause I'm not getting a Maguiver vibe from them.
