The more I think about it, the more I realize how much bad advice is thrown around on SF to anyone who is genuinely asking for it. I understand that people mean it in earnest when they try to help but the overall consensus of the forum is way too formulaic instead of looking at the actual context of the situation. This is really sad in a way because style is very personal instead of a formulaic combination of a+b+c=STYLE. It rubs off on impressionable newbies in a wrong way that creates that influx of everyone wearing AA tee/apc jeans/clarks boots which comes off as bland, unconfident and IMO a huge waste of money (because of the lack of the building of a personal sense of style).Originally Posted by Lel
