Maybe we just have different definitions of posh accents? I'm thinking Maggy Thatcher and the Queen, not BBC.

1) What wiki calls "received english" is also the accent the Queen uses. She might not be a BBC presenter from the 60s but uses the same pronunciation.
2) Sloaner Ranger accent is just a marginal variant of the BBC spoken by a VERY limited number of people, it is also linked to vocab. more than pronunciation, no?

note: I'm not a linguist and made several assumptions, the main one being that RAH and Sloane Ranger refer to the same cuntspeak.

Na, sloanie/rah is definitely a different pronunciation to BBC.

Particularly wanky tv show that demonstrates it perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dH-sZbzadUU

Compare to the beginning of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiljTaop-pQ

Interesting how posh accents seem to be changing though.

Size 44 but will work for a size 40 with 10 insoles and 5 pairs of socks

god that is awful. Seems to be exaggerated for extra wankiness, like it got the Mary Poppins treatment.

I think I've written something like this before, but it deserves to be repeated: it's crazy how two garments with the same chest measurement can have drastically different fits if their armholes are cut differently. Almost makes looking at measurements a pointless exercise. Guh

That's unfortunately how a whole load of people speak, it's pretty gross.

Well, I started a discussion on the possibiity of a GMTO/preorder subforum, and what the ground rules would be: http://www.styleforum.net/t/480142/should-we-start-a-new-subforum-for-gmto-group-made-to-order-and-preorders/0_50

Arm holes, upper back, which is very different from shoulders - for me, for many Japanese brands, even if the shoulders are dead on, and the chest fits, the back is often too small, since apparently, Japanese guys have no lats.

Shoulders, back length, sleeve length chest - these alone give a very limited idea of the fit of a garment.  If you have ever done online MTM, you'll see that maybe more measurements are needed to even get a vaguely well fitting garment.
