Kind of disappointed by how over-simplified they make this issue. Like somehow, our need for cheap, fast fashion is forcing children to work in sweatshops. Or that companies can do something about their supply chain management when they're working in countries that barely even have functional governments.

This segment was 17min long. You'd think they could include some of the more complicated issues around economic development, rather than repeat the same tired story of sweatshops that mostly gets used for protectionist agendas.

at least it gets people talking

So, I guess the moral of the story is, when in doubt just buy shit made by Canadians.

Can someone enlighten me how can the "Outfit of the day Apr 27th" at front site be "approved"? I mean... it has a GQ vibe. I remember folks relentlessly criticized CoG tie and leather fit in horrible fashion blog thread.

1) try reading the caption…. 2) it's Victor... he's a secret agent and will break your skull with his fucking pinky finger so he does what he wants (srsly though check out his other pix… he kills it almost daily)

So, I have a pair of Kazuyuki Kumagai wool/cashmere (85/15) pants that have become pretty misshapen over time — in particular, the fabric has developed bags along the kneecap and the back of the thigh. The weave has become noticeably stretched out when held up to light through those areas and the seat, as well.

I was thinking that maybe washing them and then putting them on a gentle cycle in the dryer could tighten the weave again, but I'm worried about changing the hand of the fabric. Does anyone have any advice? Should I not bother?

Rye was so perfect for the styleforum of pre-2010. He's probably being stored in a freezer in Sauce Master's basement, waiting for us to all start wearing denim again

(oh and for the pants-- what about just treating them like a knit and letting them soak overnight, no agitation or soap?)

@Rye GB is fine.  Still designing, afaik.  I get a random message from him once in a while.  Keep on meaning to meet up with him next time I'm in LA.  @Saucemaster, last I heard from him, which was a couple of years ago now, is also fine.  He moved, and at about that time, more or less retired from the forum, though he came back a bit in 2012 to help us with some stuff.  Both stand up guys.  Both pretty stylish as well.

It typically looks terrible, but here, it works, which is what fascinated me.

I mean, any fool, and that includes me, can put on a nice black leather, pair with black jeans and boots or white kicks, and look fine.  Or dark indigo jeans and boots.  Whatever.  Hey, be crazy and add a scarf.  The CM version would be a dark blue suit or sportsjacket, a complementary tie and pocketsquare, and call it a day.

Or you can go full Junya, or full EG, or whatever, really own a "complete" look, and also do pretty well, as long as you pick a full on look that works for you.

But it's when separates are put together in a what that is very "GQ recommends" and generally looks horrific, works that you're like "woah, someone actually pulled it off."

Just went through his gallery, I agree he kills it most of the time, but not this one. To me, that fit is no better than CoG' attempt (well, except the clothes are far more luxe). Ultimately, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Ryegb is a good follow on instagram. I don't remember who he's working for now; had been Kill City.
