did you buy a pair of snowpants?
The dude on the right is wearing a Lemaire jacket, so maybe the trousers are from him as well? Either way, that's a great brand to start with.

I missed the snowpants wave and all the ones that come up for sale are too small.

BCD - I've checked Lemaire and haven't found anything. Brands that I've been stalking are Lemaire, CDG, Jil, Margaret Howell, Raf (older), AKOG. DieWorkWear suggested MTO, but I know these things exist in the wild and would much prefer to just buy something rather than trying to estimate measurements out of non-matching pants.

SP still has some in size 48. Autumn weight, though (and no cuff frown.gif)

Yeah, I need 34/50 maybe 52's.

There's a lot of things that are close. Marni always does cropped trousers, the Lardini x Wooster stuff is all close. Ann D and Lanvin do a decent amount of cropped trousers... I just want those dudes to tell me what they are.

Last I checked Context had it.

Edit: I think they sold out.

One of my favorite parts of that Elle interview with Fran Lebowitz was how, when she wanted new clothes in a specific style, her first impulse was to have them made. Seems like such a simple, peaceful way of going about things. I guess the key is to make sure the people making your clothes don't have ulterior aspirations toward the restaurant industry.

actually not many brands make exactly what you're looking for. the ones lemaire did last season are close, but somehow I was weirdly in between sizes in the waist. actually best to buy something vintage or second hand and take them to a tailor you trust and have him make them how you want. there are a lot of ways to go about it but the best is to find something vintage with a lot of volume and have your tailor add the taper. you could also buy something like uniqlo in a larger size and then take them in but most brands these days make everything pretty slim with a low rise so youre fighting an uphill battle there.

I can think of almost nothing more uncomfortable than a collared shirt under a sweater
