there should be a site where if you pay a recurring fee, and tell them your size and what you like, they browse every marketplace and webstore and send you links

So much easier for me since I purchase from one brand to just book mark and browse when I am bored. That sounds like a great idea though kickstarter it man

2 lazy but if anyone does make it be sure to give props, it'd a very time consuming endeavor but well worth it for both sides depending on the fee.

also wearing one brand is like getting married and settling down. And I imagine anyone who's been doing this for a long time will have narrower tastes. But it's difficult for people just getting into it.

It's not always awesome. My torso is kinda short relative to my height, which I think can look kinda awkward at times.

Carol Christian Poell classic belt.  Just bought.  Have been looking for since 2010?  2011, maybe?  In the beige/waxed off white color.  So... probably 5 years.  I was so pissed when they replaced that with the U, L, folded, and otherwise essentially unwearable, or designed to break with any tension, belts.

fwiw, @Synthese and I went for dimsum at City View (I think) on Commercial Street in San Francisco, and it was quite passable, even quite good.  The canonical things were all done right.  The siu mai were pretty juicy and moist and the pork and shrimp both had the right consistency, and the har gao had a decent skin, not the best or most delicate I've ever had, but quite passable, with just about the exact right amount for a good bite.  The shrimp chun fun noodles were good - soft and with a smooth tecture, and the shrimp itself was pretty decent.  And the deserts were good.  The custard bun had a good amount of custard, which was gooey the way it should be, and the tsing do had a not too thick, crunchy crust.  It was about 1/2 Chinese and what looked to be 1/2 tech people (this was a Friday).  All the tech groups had at least one token Chinese person, so all was well.

follow up question, how do you guys convince yourselves, when looking for something, from getting a lesser version of the thing you actually want?

Isn't the prob usually the other way around? Convince yourself that you should buy the more expensive item?
Because it's lesser...

i meant when the item you want isn't available/taking too long to find. And lesser not necessarily as in cheaper, just not the same thing. Kind of a dumb question I guess but was curious in hearing tales of kopping discipline.

nobody's talking about the kanye presentation?

never ever ever buy the lesser version.  you'll end up spending double
