I'm much closer to SJ than SF shog[1].gif

If you have time, SJ has pretty solid Mexican and Vietnamese food in general. Not much else unless you want to drive into the suburbs.

So I see a lot of clothing that's advertised as "versatile." But the only truly versatile piece I own and have seen is an Arc"teryx Veillance coat. I don't even know if the design was intentional or not but for some reason and in some way, it's styled equally well on goth ninjas as Japanese fisherman. I can't think of anything else that comes close, not gats/cps, jeans, NBs. Whoever designs AV outerwear is a genius.

It's a pretty short, packed trip frown.gif I have dinners with colleagues each night. I need to just show up to a San Fran meet one of these days. I remember, back in the day, just happening to wind up at Self Edge during a sufu party and thinking most everyone was weird. I bet SF SF dudes are nice, tho.

Guy on the left, Conroy Nachtigall. Or at least, used to design for the brand. I heard people saying he's no longer there? idk if it's true or not, doesn't matter too much.

edit: according to his linkedin he left in 2013

I know this is meant to be a parody, but they actually did a pretty good job showing some of the hidden features of acronym jackets.

In the back of a crowded bar, I took my left shoe off so that @Synthese could try it on.

See that's the problem when visiting a lot of american cities: the best "ethnic" food is to be found in nthe suburbs. LA is a special case cause it's just a huge collection of suburbs...

Canadian cities are similar.  The best Chinese food, for example, tends to be in North Toronto, where there is a huge Chinese population.

I think that the main point is that many American cities are not particularly navigable by foot or public transport, or even cab, and to a large extent, that's true.  I feel that San Francisco and New York, and to some extent, Boston, are the exceptions,
