I returned (too small) a very cool german workwear-ish cord jacket just befor christmas to Germany, the shipping was supposed to take 3 days. The package never arrived, and of course I thought it was lost. Just got an email from the german web store, they got the package today and are sending the larger size now icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

been watching Friends on Netflix. here's Sean Penn from a 2001 Halloween episode that I think is clearly inspiration for some Raf x Sterling Ruby

on a separate note, had a situation that brought to mind the discussion of quality that came up recently. i bought a margiela turtleneck not long ago and noticed that it's developing a hole already where the neck meets the body. i took it to French-American Reweaving here in NYC and after a quick look the guy told me I should return the sweater and not bother fixing. he showed me how they skimped on reinforcing the area where the neck and body meet, and because the neck is tight it's always going to pull in that area when you put the sweater on. even if I were to fix the developing hole it would eventually come apart elsewhere because of this issue. he said it's shoddy workmanship that's typical of trying to make something quickly and cheaply (that was his synopsis, not mine). so here's an instance where I think you can say the quality isn't there.

I think it's a funny concept to have a bespoke structured sashiko cardigan. I can imagine some of the SF customers obsessing over measurements, getting it to fit just like their favorite blazer, only to have it fit all drapey and loose after a half dozen wears. Heavy cotton sashiko is going to stretch, and the idea of making a structured garment out of it is peculiar. In my opinion, it should fit a little small at first, like a pair of jeans, so it fits like a glove after some wears. Or, there should be no structure at all and one should go for that Japanese denim hobo look. It will be interesting to see what comes of this...

I still just see the Valentine's Day promotion everywhere (Yooxinlove = 15% off) so it must be US-only. What is it?

Pay 150 for a grab bag "worth" over 350

With the amount of stuff Yoox caries, that would just be insane. It would be a fun challenge though, create an outfit with everything you get from the yoox roulette.

That would be awesome, for some reason I'm picturing it with a liberty shirt and suede brogues on a dainite sole.

Men Are Getting Their Own New York Fashion Week

It’s been rumored, but now it’s official: men are getting their very own New York Fashion Week. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced today the launch of New York Fashion Week: Men’s, a standalone showcase for American men’s fashion in the Big Apple. The biannual event is set to kick off July 13-16, 2015 with the debut of the Spring 2016 collections.

Presented by Amazon and its fashion sites Amazon Fashion, East Dane, and MyHabit with additional support from Shinola, the first edition of NYFW:Men’s will coincide with New York Men’s market Week and will feature a mix of runway shows, presentations, and other special events and is currently set to include the likes of Calvin Klein Collection, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Rag & Bone, Public School, Billy Reid, Todd Snyder, Michael Bastian, Ovadia & Sons, Robert Geller, Duckie Brown, Patrik Ervell, Orley, and Kent and Curwen with more names to be confirmed in the near future.

so like, say if I don't agree with the ethos of some labels, mainly the ones that use the word "metaphysical" in anything, but then still buy their stuff cuz I like the way it looks. Am I doing some next level shit by turning their philosophy against them?

Nope, you're just giving them money.
