yeah, the only barrier to entry is money. and a look around the internet will show you that buying cool obscurantist brands, and especially wearing them all together at the same time, definitely doesn't make you cool.

Pff. Blatantly untrue. All the brands I wear are like that - and I only wear brands like that.

idk man is there really another store in the world that carries layer-0, ports, and acne?

Awesome.  Now I know how to look cooler. The only question is whether I'm supposed to emulate fuccboi Synth or "I'm a creative class who has a really cool rock garden and can I show you my Living Wood table and would you like to hear about my spiritual journey to Hokkaido" Synth?

So, to be fair, in its more nuanced form, it's not "anti-consumerism" in the sense that you shouldn't spend money.  It's really supposedly about the ethos that one should not be driven by the treadmill of fashion, which is, if extrapolated, just fast, disposable fashion, but played at a slower speed.

However... it's really complete bullshit.  No brand can survive without cashflow, no matter how expensive the clothes, which means that you need to have a decent amount of turnover.  In fact, if you want to see a trickle down economy, where the rich get the nice shit, and the poors get the leftovers and discards, the little world of "artisanal brands" is a little microcosm.

Years ago, on (iirc) Buffy the Vampire Slayer, there was a funny sequence in which the devils complained that God got all the good worshippers, and that devil worshippers were a bunch of fucktards.  Funny because true.  This is not that different.  You get a bunch of people taking on the trappings of a specific type of fashion and reading philosophy badly and writing longform essays like a very earnest liberal arts freshman, and thinking that this makes them smart, or deep, or any number of things that are patently untrue.

Wings + Horns.
Bought another pair of the tokyo chinos which are basically a tapered chino with a full thigh that work really well for me. This is my 3rd pair from this season. One of each colour. They are all garment dyed 100% cotton. The pair I just received have a much slimmer leg and longer inseam. I'm actually wondering now if they are just some mislabelled westpoints.

Coin pocket or no? To the best of my knowledge, Westpoints have a coin pocket; Tokyos do not.

Alos, Wings+Horns has a history of fucking up sizing.  No idea why, but they gotta get their production manager cracking down on people.

@notwithit silhouette is definitely tokyo (rear flap pockets, no coin pocket) but the cut is definitely not like the other 3 pairs I have. If I lay them over some old westpoints they match up pretty much exactly. It's like the pattern was cut as a westpoint and then sewn together as a Tokyo, but i don't know how that's possible. It's weird.

It seems really strange they would have this much of a problem considering they have an in-house design team, in-house pattern maker and they work out of their own production facility. Anyway, I'm hoping W+H figure out who they want to be again with the new/old Arc' designer in charge.
