Ordered something from Russia. The seller dropped it off at Russian Post on the 16th. It still hasn't left Russia.

Hey guys, will be travelling to San Francisco early March with the wife.  Spending about 8 days there.  Any tips?

Am looking to spend maybe 3-4 days in the city and 4-5 days driving outside.  Food/wine/scenery/history/interesting sights/events would be great.  Shopping secondary!

Thanks in advance guys!!

I really really love the gradient/colour coordinating effect that Mr Porter does when you go through the new arrivals.

French Laundry, Chez Panisse

I have an extensive list of ice cream shops if that is of interest. I mainly go to SF for coffee and ice cream :embar:

There was this place I went to last time called "The Ice Cream Bar" (I think) that made the best root beer float I've ever had.

French Laundry is closed for now, but I recall there's a pop-up opening somewhere. Or maybe already opened?

See the redwoods. Have a meal or spend a night at the half moon bay ritz carlton.

Anyone know what the deal is with unfinished hems and collars on t shirts? Is it something you're supposed to hem yourself, or would a hem mess with the drape, or what?

My wife really likes bi-rite creamery and tartine bakery, also you can drive up to napa and have a few tastings and a nice dinner, take a stroll in gg park around the tea garden and museum, oh and you have to go to mac, that place should have lots of stuff that fits your style

Smitten is my fav ice cream in SF, they make it on the spot with liquid nitrogen and it's creamy beyond belief. Get balsamic strawberry if they have it. Breakfast blend from Humphrey Slocombe is best boozy ice cream - bourbon flavor with corn flake bits for extra texture.

Go to mission district and get a super burrito from any of the highly yelped places - somehow burritos there are way better than anywhere else in the US.

Ritual coffee in Mission is my favorite for espressos, blue bottle also great.

Bund in chinatown has nice authentic shanghai food, really good xlb.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Tartine has a long wait which makes it tricky. I found most pastries had a harder crust than I liked, but the pies are pretty good:

What are the reasons chukkas generally not approved at SF? I've wanted some suede boots for awhile and I don't wear zip boots, ever. Already got couple pairs of workboots in calf and buffalo. Now I want some suede chukkas.
