I imagine it's the same when you click random fashion thoughts and see 30 posts about anime when you could care less about it

i will now see less

Hi sinned.

You guys are forgetting the quoting of the quoting of the quotes of the post she made and no one commented on.

The daily count down in recent purchase was especially annoying.

Why would you lie?

There are at least 3 dudes there who lie about it. One of them posts here.

I don't see what one would gain from lying about how many pull ups you can do, it's a bit like lying about how many slices of bread you can eat.

My thread subscription count has gone up fairly steadily since joining. Still don't go into CM but lots of culture threads are cool and do have very different contributors. It is nice every so often to just click SW&D and see all the threads I don't subscribe to. Gives a breath of fresh air.

For what it's worth, I really appreciate the dialog Fok, and in particular I find your ideas about community management (and the stats! post more stats! I'd love to know the breakdown between CM Vs. SWD using certain features) really fascinating.

That said, encouraging me to post in forums that are frequented more commonly by CMers is a bit like asking me to become an active participant in the comments section of a Yahoo article. redface.gif

How is boxercise class going man?

Once I am back in form (I was out essentially an entire year due to a number of surgeries, and my general directive is "nothing that increases pressure too much" still), I'll volunteer to be on video.  I'm not as impressive as some other members though.  What I lack in pure strength, though, I make up by sheer volume of shorter sets.  What takes @jet five sets takes me ten, but I'll keep on doing and do 15 sets.  The owner of the gym I go to loves to take video of members doing stuff - usually it's some huge dude deadlifting 700 lbs or whatever - but I she takes videos of other stuff as well.  There is a really terrible video of me doing a massive box jump, not quite making it, catching my foot on the last level, and awkwardly falling down half on my front, half on my ass.

The record store analogy and any concerns about user functionality are specious at best.

This might be true to a certain extent but I also believe it's in part Fok not forcing his preferences of rummaging through piles of clutter onto the rest of the youthful, technologically savvy generation while hoping it's a system that will also prove useful to the senile remainder otherwise confused by wireless mice and touch-screens. Plus you can block it all and it keeps the place free

My favorite are comments on Youtube.

Outside of CM, CM posters lose their special powers, so you don't have to be afraid of them in Entertainment&Culture, or whatever dumb name we came up with in the 5 minutes we spent in 2006 making up the subforums.  I still regret coming up with "Health and body".

I subscribe to 2 threads. Only for the instant email alerts of new posts. Other than that I navigate from my profile page where it shows all the threads I have posted in and which ones have new posts, and how many new posts if any.

I dont know the stats the way Fok does, but I can tell you that for a long time WAYWT was #1 or #2 in posts per day, and MC WAYWRN was never in the top 3, and when I would check in Saturday night, WAYWT would have twice the action WAYWRN did. In the recent past, as far as I can tell, that has flip flopped. Not sure if its because MC is getting more action than before, or if its because SWD is getting less.

I, for one, have always enjoyed the tangents in WAYWT and in here. I find that they keep the thread active while things are quiet, and I like the vibe of the SWD crowd. When people are posting fits, or fashion related randomness, the chatter dies down, and when the more meaty content slows, the chatter picks up. Its an ebb and flow, and I think its good.

Sure, there are times when the tangents go OTT and need to me moved or stopped, but for the most part I think they are productive in creating community and camaraderie. Im not into anime, for example, but I got a few laughs and learned a few things reading the last page or so.

In any case, I think that outside of actual MC, the other subforums have cross posters from all over SF. Obviously you should not be forced to be active in threads or areas where you feel uncomfortable, but I wonder maybe if you lurked a few of the non-clothing related sub-forums/threads, on topics you have interest in, if you just might enjoy it.

I'm sure that nicelynice lies about how he spends his whole day doing pull ups and reenacting scenes from lost in translation, without being awear of it.

How about answering my PMs about double standards and shady practices?
