I'm very down for a meet-up. I've seen so many local SFers after the fact because I see their WAYWT pics or someone PMs me/posts about it later lol. It would be nice to hang out and get some beers or something with you guys. That is if I can work it around my retail schedule :\

Only applies to the item code 128621. Not sure about the other gloves they have listed.

thank you this is exactly what I was looking for. wonder why they don't indicate that online.

Opie from SoA looks awesome in a manbun.

He looks better with it down, but still.

Tailoring -- that's an exact science, right? Like: numbers. These are cold, objective, indisputable? You ask for a hem width, you specify a number, with the expectation that you can press the results to a ruler and see that number reflected back to you in its shiny wools, its waxed denims?

Because for me, this is not the case, and I think my tailor thinks she knows better; I think she is soup nazi-ing me. Because not only did my pant legs return an inch wide (folded), but when I took them back -- again -- they're still at least a half-inch over. (I'm not a tall man, I tried to explain; these inches make a difference). And not only that, but I finally yank my three pairs of winter jeans, I measure them and I find that they, too, months ago, suffered the same fate. 7.25"-7.5". Not my golden 7.

Am I being crazy? I thought numbers were objective. I feel I've lost about a hundred bucks, some of my time, and I still want my stupid pants slimmed.

Most tailors do not understand how important these half inches are to the good people of style forvm.
tailors don't give a shit about your numbers. they don't work that way. you need to pin it exactly where you want and say "here". that's really the only way.

also I doubt you can tell the different between 7.25 and 7.

Find a different tailor.

Tailors are like hairdressers- you can tell them whatever you want, and they will still do it the way they think it should be done. I finally found a tailor (a cute Czech female one) who will alter clothes however I ask. She actually tends to adjust things a little too slim (doesn't understand Cabourn).

The best (i.e., worst) was the grumpy, old Italian tailor I used to go to who said that "people should just buy clothes that fit them!" puzzled.gif

I have been saying that for years!!

I am thankful to have a tailor/seamstress, that will tailor to the exact measurements I ask. She is the best.

Thanks, in light of previous comments, I suspect this is the case. I guess now the hunt begins for an exacting Czech woman.

Anyone other than Redo figure out how to order the $200 Goodyear welted side zip from story et fall?
Yup, shout your order into one of the designated storm drains in your city, and a member of the subterranean staff will shout back to confirm. Return to the storm drain a week later to collect your boots.
