i've been having a nice time selling things on ebay, actually. made some closet space, made some pocket change, watched a lot of X Files while measuring garments...

in fact, selling stuff on ebay is way easier than it used to be. i remember poring over my listing choices before, and how they do it now, i'm no longer worried about accidentally undercharging shipping to like Djbuti or something.

What's the best way to fill out ebay shipping options?

I find it SO much easier to just list things on here for a good price... give someone a good deal and be done with it. Last time I listed something on Ebay, the fees were so steep.

If I could add my $0.02, as someone who runs a similar MTO business, although on a much, much smaller scale, there are times when I receive lots of orders, and then spend the $$ on Cabourn gear, only to find it mentally challenging to finish the orders. Physically, it's not that hard- I just sit at my work bench and get it done. God, I can't even imagine having ~$143,000 in unfulfilled orders, especially if the funds were spent on something else. I'd probably go insane, literally.

He doesn't make the items himself though. He has korean laborers who do it for him.

Thanks. That would be even more stressful for me, having to rely on other people to fulfill a shit ton of backlogged orders.

Also, what seems to really be bothering people is the lack of updates.

When my order from you was delayed I sent an email and got a response back within a day, both apologizing and letting me know it would be shipped within a week (it was, and I'm very happy with it, thank you).

Obviously much different scales, but a quick response with updated info goes a long way to helping people be patient/not freak out.

I think Zappos or Mark Zuckerberg is trying to tell me something

I know it's only been going for sub 48 hours, but 179 seems low, would have guessed atleast x5.

I would be set for life if I legged it with a 179 unfulfilled orders.

For people like me who know 0 about what TOJ even is, this thread is the only place that brought up its existence...

Always seemed sketchy to me for some reason, I would of never given them any of my $$$ but I will say I skimmed the thread and it is gold...pure gold entertainment wise

click "select shipping myself," do "charge actual cost," don't do international shipping. when it's time to ship, pay for shipping through ebay and print the shipping label yourself. their size and weight guesses for shipping will be accurate enough that your item will ship--their weights are big enough and their too-small package sizes seem not to matter. been doing this for my past 6 or so clothing sales.

ah, but where's the best place to put it up when you're trying to recoup close to retail?
