I could be wrong, but I don't think that's raw silk.

...but if that's raw silk, it would be the most unusual kind. Seems too smooth and even (across the yarn, not the weave), and loosely woven.

It's 100% silk, and not especially even. I own that jacket

being 100% silk has nothing to do with whether it's unprocessed or not.

It's probably normal processed silk that's in an open weave.

These brands always confuse their labelling.

^yeah, probably, the tag doesn't specify whether or not the silk was processed.

Probably more to do with people like myself confusing the labeling and misrepresenting it.

Today has been crazy, but I'm more amazed at how adamant and defensive some of his supporters are.

Compare that ToJ thread to the Ambrosi debacle over at CM. Here's whnay asking people to not laugh because he's been waiting for his pants for 6 months.

http://www.styleforum.net/t/237582/ambrosi-napoli/0_20#post_4362339

Note, at that point, Ambrosi's name was more or less completely discredited. And that Ambrosi is an actual, skilled tailor making bespoke garments. And that he never had defenders, and to this day, that thread is pretty much just a place for people to hate on him.

Meanwhile, at ToJ, even the most disgruntled customers are just grumbling over a 1.5 year wait time. And if people voice any more concern, five people jump up and start freaking out about how nobody should be worried about their $800 made to measure jacket.

GUYS ITS RAW "DESTROYED" SILK

Imagine how our lives would turn out if every garment we bought had a year-and-a-half waiting period

no seriously think about it

I'm just so baffled at how little TOJ cares about their customers.

And I mean beyond a business sense. Just being able to care so little for upset human beings when you have the power to make it go away with a few minutes of effort.

I'm impressed by the accuracy of those time-period jeans. Never noticed before.

Wasn't there that Acronym diffusion or collab label that wasn't too badly priced. Name totally slipped my mind but I remember looking up a few pieces on rakuten and yjp

Ever since I "upgraded" to Yosemite this site has been very slow for me. I don't know what it is going on but I have to wait up to a minute for pages to load
