TMA-1's are nice, but for that kind of money I would get a pair of Beyerdynamics

Speaking of designer headphones.

If you only want to spend $20, Land's End tall tailored fit, sized down one:.

I have a pair of Regular Ralfs - for some reason they're called Regular Alfs, maybe because they were a Context special - but I don't wear them as often as I used to because I trashed the cowboy boots I always wore them with.

Note to self: Buy new cowboy boots.

Yes, but not in a good way.

I think I have a pair of 05 Nudies laying around.

Reg Ralf Dry Greycast. Slight bootcut forever!

In those days we bought EG and Spruce/wings and horns based on testimonial alone, almost. Boutique web store product photography was dismal. Spruce/AA/nudie/chucks. Or BoO/APC/Paul Smith

It's not like this is a really new or unique thing, but for some reason the execution of this version just looks really bad, and I don't really know why.

Like the leather is way too shiny or the silhouette is just too thin/unsubstantial or something.

Leather sleeved sweatshirt / varsity sweatshirt.

I never got into Nudies - they were too disco for me with that wild accurate. I still have and wear a pair of Denime (some repro Lee slim cut) that I got from the jean bar at Fred Segal in the late 90's. I also had a pair of LVC 1947s from around then but I wore them to shreds a long time ago.

The one fashunny thing I still have are a pair of Costume National boots from around 2002 that are too bulbous for me to wear now but they're nice shoos - made in Italy, welted, etc. Oh, and a Dries suit I got at Barney's from around the same time, but it's kinda tame.

Is it bad form to go into an affiliate thread and talk smack or does buying a thread on SF give you immunity to that stuff

re: prices, BoF did a piece a couple years ago looking very broadly at the different factors involved. prices of materials have been going up (and will continue to), labor costs have risen, brands are inflating prices to cushion their margins since consumers expect deals and many don't buy until sale, and then brands are also inflating prices basically for marketing reasons (exclusivity breeds desire). Last but not least, people keep buying shit, even as prices go up. (I'm sure there's some sort of argument in there that as the 1% gain a greater share of income they're also buying more luxury/designer goods.) sure there's other stuff involved too. kinda interesting: http://www.businessoffashion.com/2013/08/fashion-inflation-why-are-the-prices-of-designer-goods-rising-so-fast.html

Baltimore is just now catching up to this edgy and ultra-modern aesthetic.

^Whatever, @BrettChaotix was on that tip plus kopping goth-y leathers years ago. And those MICA kids have got to be killing normcore right about now.

Another throwback--just today received an ebay'd pair of Nom de Guerre jeans. Fuck your raw edged textured knit wool/linen trousers, these are fantastic.
