There's this older asian guy i see in the cambridge area occasionally that always looks dope as hell with his suiting, hair and facial hair. I'm jealous

I've watched Taxi Driver twice in the last week and feel sort of bad that one of my most prominent thoughts both times was about how great Travis' boots are.

Old Asians are like old blacks. I once saw an old Asian wearing a gaudy pinstriped suit with cowboy boots and big sunglasses--very pimptastic, a real jukebox.

I dunno around here I generally don't see any steezy asian dudes and never with hot girls (they seem not their preference) though I do have one homie who is an anamoly.

The only cool old Asian guys I see are the random 80+ year old in a pimped out pinstripe suit with cane, and the 50+ year old washed out artists in Hongdae. Everyone else is a fatass by Asian standards in a huge suit

I don't know if this is a fashion thought, but: it is very frustrating to have a really limited budget, no outerwear that you like very much (I have a wool car coat from the Gap that I like a surprising amount, but that's about it), and cold weather coming in.

Why is every college thread full of bad advice?

"Don't wear X or Y, only Z."

"Don't stand out, standing out is BAD. Being noticed in college is BAD, because it err deviates outside the norm"

"People in college are judgmental and care about what you think, don't dress for yourself but for them"

"You can't look good and have fun, so dress like **** and get wasted"

I feel truly bad for the people who take advice like this seriously.

^I think it's cuz alot of dudes on here were either losers or imbeciles in college, and have recently reformed.

Yeah my budget is about 10% of what I need to dress the way I'd like and while I think it's good to have the means to progress and think about purchases rather than splurge without thought, I really don't like waiting 4-8 weeks just to buy some mid level designer stuff and 8-16 weeks (not that I have, but hypothetically) to buy some proper high end stuff (jackets and such, at retail).

Well, hmm, it just bugs me because it's a part of a bigger issue that SF kind of overhypes the importance of clothing in real life when honestly, it doesn't really matter.
