I love Wes Anderson, and I love stop animation.

"Based on the Book by the Author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

That's just depressing.

it is a huge shame. So many amazing children's books were written by Rold Dahl.

Looks good. I find Wes to be a bit hit or miss though.

Thanks, hadn't heard about this and I really enjoy his films. I had to check the voice actors and am pleased to see he will continue to use one of the Wilsons (Owen) and Bill Murray. * George Clooney as Mr. Fox * Meryl Streep as Mrs. Fox * Bill Murray as Mr. Badger * Jason Schwartzman as Ash * Jarvis Cocker as Petey * Owen Wilson as Coach Skip * Willem Dafoe as Rat * Brian Cox as Boggis * Adrien Brody as Rickity

The trailer is really, really bad.

I'm excited about the movie, but +1 the sucky trailer comment. What the fuck is up with the trend toward long trailers? The Funny People trailer almost ruined the movie... If you can't sell a movie, especially an animated one, in under 60 seconds, you've got a problem.

The animation looked decent, but yeah, the trailer sucked. It seemed like a generic talking animal movie, which really surprised me, because that's the last thing I would expect from Dahl via Anderson.

Agreed. I like Anderson but I don't know about this. If anything, the trailer made me not want to see the movie. Hmmmm...

same here- loved Royal Tenenbaums with a lot of this cast, hated the last one though.

I dunno. It looks like a promising story, but I'm still seeing a lot of that "I'm just so apathetic and detatched from life" vibe in a lot of the dialog that I've come to really dislike about Anderson's work. I may rent it.
