Creatine mono v. ethyl ester v. hydrochloride v. kre alkalyn

So going to add creatine to my diet again (have not taken it for about 8 months). Back in the day I used to take regular old mono (back when thats all there was). I didnt really like it, the bloating, water weight, and massive amounts of sugar mixed with it all sucked!

Then I switched to CEE (specifically Cell-Mass), and the stuff was great. However since then hydrochloride & kre alkalyn have hit the market so I now have no idea what to go with....

Mono is really out, yeah its cheap but I'd rather spend a bit more and avoid the water weight/bloating/puffyness look.

Any thoughts? should I just go back to CEE? does pill or powder matter?

I just take the normal monohydrate and add 5g to my post workout shake. The other's may have some additional benefit but I don't believe it's enough to warrant the extra cost.

i've always been concerned with kre-alkyn and all of those creatine derivatives. they are created by people with minimum scientific training, and what they are essentially doing is altering the molecule and saying that it is safe to take.

mono has decades of research behind it and is cheap. all the other bullshit creatine derivatives have little or no research behind them and are not as cheap.

Loading phases went out with the '90's. To use this as a selling point is like BMW advertising disc brakes on the new M3.

I use Mono. Cheap. Effective. No loading phase

yes but youd be surprised at how many people still think you need to have loading phases for creatine...I just threw it out there for good measure.

The same kind synthesized by the body in adequate amounts.

stick with the creatine mono. all of the studies that show positive results used creatine mono. i've even read a study showing worse absorption with CEE. in any case, creatine mono is so cheap that it's cheaper just to take the mono even if the claims of designer creatine's absorption benefits are actually true (they most likely are not).

crea-pure branded creatine monohydrate is good (prolab, ON, etc.) so look for that stuff. it's tested for potency/purity. 5g a day everyday.
