Guys, I'm 47, played some college football, good athlete, decent genetics for muscle development. The last couple years I've really stepped up the fitness regime, and now do some form of resistance and aerobic training every day of the week most weeks. On the weights, I don't kill myself, working a lot of machines, dumbells, leg press machines, etc., but go pretty hard. I mix it up, doing high reps lower weight some days, fewer reps higher weight on others. I've reacquired some pretty damn good tone for a guy my age doing things unscientifically. I've found it increasingly difficult, though, to get in a workout where I am sore the next day, and can really feel that I've put my body through some tough training. With legs, I can make that happen pretty easily if I set out to do so. I am having a really hard time, though, doing anything to make my chest or biceps sore the next day. They get pumped as shit while I am training, and I feel like puking, but the next day, I feel like I didn't do anything. I mix up the exercises, sets, reps, etc., but nada. Tips, or is the soreness not a true test? Thanks!
