On the west coast, San Diego in general and La Jolla specifically are very nice.

On the East coast, Palm Beach, Fl. is pretty spectacular for a day trip or visit.

The New Jersey shore is great in the summer too. I have relatives in Pt. Pleasant, NJ and used to go there a lot but it's been a while. Deal, NJ ( that was involved in the recent corruption stories ) is near there and is particularly nice too.

Does Skaneatelses, NY really exist or was conne drinking some good stuff tonight?

The better half and I may travel up to Traverse City for our vacation.

My favorites (in no particular order):

  • Speculator, New York - not much to look at per se, but stragically located in the heart of the Adirondacks - take it from a native Upstate New Yorker;
  • Sandwich, Massachusetts - the epitome of Cape Cod;
  • Fish Creek (Door County), Wisconsin - a bit like Cape Cod, but right on Green Bay, with a relaxed, Midwestern 'tude;
  • Park City, Utah - great skiiing, with three great resorts to choose from;

Just got back from 4 days up there. We stayed on the Old Mission Peninsula, just northeast of Traverse City. The peninsula and surrounding areas are gorgeous. In cherry season, there's no place better to be. (Okay, maybe Eastern Washington.)

Never been here, just to SLC a few times, but my brother-in-law is in an indie film that is trying to get into Sundance and if it gets in we're going to try to go out for it if we can.

I predict you will love Sundance ( I've been once

)

Also you said you've been to Pensacola a few times.

Unless you own a place there or have the use of someones condo, I think Destin ( which is very close ) is much smaller and nicer for a trip. To some of us, it's the Cannes of the Redneck Riviera

Not Pensacola, Panama City Beach. Yes, Destin would be nicer. My wife's law partner's family has a house near PCB so we often rent that. We love the house because it is right on the beach. That's what draws us to that particular spot.
