bull-fucking-shit. without prior knowledge of the movie (or in the case, the obligatory M. Night 3rd act plot twist), theres not a flying chance in fuck anyone would have any reason to suspect that a movie that appears to be set in the 19th century is actually taking place in the 21st.

i havent seen the movie in years, but dont people all over the world chase off the aliens with water? i guess there were a lot of redemption-seeking priests out there with holy water just lying around. the whole point of the movie was that everything happens for a reason. the kid has asthma so his lungs are closed and he cant inhale the poison, the daughter is weird about her water so she leaves it all over the house, otherwise they never would have known that water kills the aliens, and there was some other stuff about baseball and the wife dying that i dont remember. i dunno, maybe it was holy water, but i never understood that to be it. edit: googled it, apparently it was holy water. will have to watch this again.

apparently the little girl, being gibson's 'little angel', 'blesses' the water by drinking it and spitting it back out. or some shit. im not religious, so i didnt know thats how it worked.

Stranger than fiction. Will Ferrell's character should have died instead of the happy ending cop-out.

"Signs" really made me think of a hackneyed rip-off of John Irving's novel "A Prayer for Owen Meany", with the very poorly-plotted addition of some peculiar aliens. Very similar themes, but "Signs" played the themes out quite poorly, I thought.

I dunno about 5 minutes but I definitely knew long before the reveal. It's just too common a twist.

No.
You're confusing aliens with the Wicked Witch of the West.

+1

Very underrated film. It shares certain similarities with the French film, INNOCENCE, which came out the same year.

Teger, I hang around with a good deal of religious people and have never heard your interpretation of the movie. I've never heard anyway interpret it that way. Your father still hates you.

That movie could have been great but it ended up being major suck through out.
The Village was equally lack luster too.

The Natural. Crap alteration of a classic American novel. Malamud must have been pissed (if he was alive, no clue).
