Interesting article. Unfortunately I'm allergic to nearly everything 'Victorian'.

I admire the Victorians for their inventiveness and inquiring minds ...but stylistically, the period was a chaotic mess -- for the most part, an eclectic assemblage of past styles set against the industrial revolution.

That's part of the draw, for some of us. Their inventiveness is unparalleled, as well.

Actually, I do quite like some of the Gothic revival stuff the Victorians were so keen on.

I don't mind a fondness for a certain era or even collections of objects from the past, but to do everything in one style seems overly thematic and leaves the impression of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland.

I had to look up Doyle Mueser.
