The Lenovo T400s are getting good reviews. Just waiting for prices to come down. Still the best keyboard in the business.

my wife and I gave up laptops and just use her iPhone and my 'berry. At the house we have an iMac.

I ended up getting a Lenovo T500. I prefer the plain styling more than the fancing, shiny, graphics on most laptops nowadays. They were also discounted, and then another 25% off coupon on top of that. Specced out at $1850 or so, and discount price was $1059. Quite pleased and looking forward to seeing what I get. It's been about 7 years or so since my last IBM.

How long ago was that and how common is it for that model to be priced like that? My six-year-old Dell desktop is running like, well, a six-year-old Dell. I'm looking to upgrade relatively soon. What you got sounds real good. I'm not a gamer and would really only be using it for Office, browsing, and my eBay business.
