Where in Europe should I visit?

I'm probably going to Europe for a few weeks in October. I'm already planning stops in Helsinki and London. I was hoping to go see some new places like Spain/Italy/Turkey/France. What cities would you recommend for a mid-twenties single guy who isn't much into museums? I am on a budget, and I wouldn't mind doing some shopping if I could get some deals.

Really I'm just looking for some excitement. I like grand metropolitan cities with glitz and glamour, a la Las Vegas or Dubai, but that doesn't seem to be the nature of most European cities. Any suggestions? Milan, Rome, Naples? Paris? Istanbul? Madrid, Barcelona?

I'm not a big museum person either - well, I like them, but I tend to hit them quite quickly to just get a feel (I was in and out of the Louvre in about an hour, the Uffizi in 90 minutes). These places are great even if you never step foot into a museum.

Berlin.

Paris.

If you can get down to Italy, do that too.

I didn't like Budapest but others have raved about it.

Dubai simply does not cut it compared to Istanbul. Have not been to Prague for ages, splendid place, but Vienna would offer even a tad more opulence. Will take any day Viennese quisine over Czech. One caveat though, both places there ain't Miller/Bud Light, even if you manage to find it someplace it might be a punishable crime. Instead you will be treated to Budweiser (da real thing), Prazdroj, Pilzner Urquell, Ottakringer, Warsteiner and host of other fine brauerei (in no particular order). If you are into breezer crap at sky high prices and semi dry prohibition you cannot go wrong with Baltic (almost any place). Spain you got tapas, jamones, vino tinto and full monty fiesta.

Im 27, on a budget, but have visited europe before. I can only recommend where Ive been and for a likeminded person I recommend:

Munich. I think your going right after oktoberfest but it is probably one of the coolest cities. You can just chill and drink anywhere you want. And there is a badass science museum there too.

Amsterdam. I think that goes without saying.

Edinburgh. Off the mainland but a riot to party in and sooo cool.

Copenhagen is neat for two or three days. I dig the scene there. Not a bad little trip after helsinki.

London i find to be, meh.

---im going to barcelona and madrid in November. Cant wait. Check out some soccer games too, the nightlife. During the day Ill hit some museums just because. I hear barcelona is HIGHLY regarded, though I cant personally speak to it (yet).

What are the attractions in/around Helsinki. I'm going mainly to visit someone and know nothing about the place.

Come to London - Its simply fanastic and off course go to Paris and Rome - Three of my favourites and if you need a heads up on the places I'd suggest visiting gekko.com as it has such a lot of information that is really useful. Hope it helps and Enjoy your Trip x
