Has anyone conquered muscle asymmetry?

I am not a big guy at 6 foot 165, but my right upper body is much stronger than my left and my left calf is much bigger than my right. I attribute this to basketball, as I dribble right and jump off my left leg for lay-ups. Has anyone had this issue and solved it through lifting? If I do enough dumbbell lifts and stay away from barbell lifts might it even out? Dare I ask, but would doping help?

Heavy lifts, low reps. You will even enough eventually. Google rippetoes starting strength. Don't do steroids. Using them the right way is incredibly complicated. You are more likely to fuck up your body.

I am torrenting the book. Are pullups and dips going to fit the category or low rep/heavy weight? I imagine squats, deadlifts, bench press, military press are the main four, any others?

Good thread. I'm a southpaw so my right arm is more muscular than my left.

I'm a righty but my left side is far stronger, I attribute this to jerking off too much Seriously though, its really frustrating. My left upper body looks a lot bigger than my right, and its a lot stronger, too - all my DB lifts suffer because my right side lags, and even with BB lifts even with strict form I feel it way more in my left side.

actually, my left calf is slightly larger than my right from using it to jump during lay-ups. I'm 6'2 and 185

Right, that's what I said.

i skateboarded for almost 9 years and one point my right leg looked to be twice the size of my left. getting old enough to drive instead of using a skateboard as transportation helped, running track helped even more, and lifting finally evened everything out. right now there's a 1/4 to 1/2 inch difference between r and l but i figure it is close enough.

Yup, But the difference is barely noticible. As for lifts, my left is equal to my right.

I have the same problem...I'm not sure what caused it as I lift with good form. Switching to dumbells didn't really help either.

Freaks!

I need to use both hands, so my upper body is fine, but my right leg is much stronger from - oh wait, that's not my leg.

Have you ever noticed how some people have long biceps that insert down to the inside of the elbow making their arms look big and full while others don't?

Kamali:

Levrone:

No matter what biceps exercises Kamali does he'll never have the fullness of Levrone's bi's who doesn't even have a space seperating the joint from the bi when he flexes.

Genetics, plain and simple. And in many, not all, cases of assymetry it's the same: genetics.

off topic, but both of those guys look disgusting.
