Minimalism kind of works for me because I always have a few favorite things that I wear all the time, so they might as well be good ones, and because there's a part of me that likes to have everything neat and sorted and in its place. I don't think it's something everyone should aspire to, I like all of Uncontrol's floral shirts and weird jeans and it definitely works for him that he has a bunch of them.

The more things change the more they stay the same, well for me at least can't say that about anyone else in this thread.

Luxe underwear and nice boots to anchor the fit, my summer uniform.

I use to work with an extreme minimalist. owned a total of 3 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 5 pairs of socks and underwear, and 2 pairs of shoes. I have been working the last couple years to get down to his level. I've found outfits can be quite repeatable BUT you have to pick up something fresh every other month or so. Big thing I've done is all socks, underwear and pants are replaced at least once a year. no exceptions, throw out and start new. I still hoard shoes, I primarily use them to give diversity to repeating outfits.

I'm not a hardcore minimalist, but I go with this for the most part. I realize that I reach for some items far more than I do for others, so it makes sense to buy nice ones. I also realize that if I keep the amount of clothing I have somewhat limited I'm more aware of what I do have and more likely to mix stuff up and get use out of a wider range of pieces (plus I hate having stuff sit around not being used)

I just want my closet to look nice. At the moment it looks like a giant orgy of fabric.

two words: clean underwear.

i have gotten rid of 90% of my stuff. i have a ccp suit in grey, a black jil suit and a blue j crew suit.

i have 2 pairs of drkshdw jeans and a pair of apcs

about 10 ro tees

ro leathers

a ro down jacket and an ro pea coat

a v and crew cashmere ro sweater and a v and a crew ro merino wool sweater

have a cloak cardigan and 3 cunky ro tneck sweaters for winter

a few pairs of ro dress pants and a few pairs of ro sweatpants

aside from gym clothes, thats all i have left
