lets just say hes more of a dewars type of guy... so in a way he leans more towards blends but normally sticks to dewars, black label, etc. thats why macallans may be hit or miss yet blue may be the safe way to go

Been a long time since I have had either, but Blue was a lot more memorable to me.

Yeah, if he's into blended then go with Blue. To me, I find that Green label and Gold label taste better than Blue label. Blue label tastes a lot like Black label. Although, if he's a Dewars guy, why not get him a bottle of Dewars?

To someone who doesn't much care for single malts, a johnny walker blue would probably be the holy grail so I'd just go with that.

If a person isn't into whisky/whiskey JW blue is probably going to be more more recoginizable as a "good gift" than any unknown-to-them expensive bottle if that's what you're going for.

this should be in social/food/drink, butttttt blended scotches are for girls, real men drink single malt. I had an old friend, Joe Piazza, who was a scotch expert. He always told me that the true scotchman would enjoy single malt scotches over blended scotches every time.
