WHich facial treatments?

Hi All,

In my mid-30s, considering facial treatments to improve looks and looking for honest advice. My facial skin is overall not bad (I think) but I would like to treat/improve these aspects (priority 1st to last):
1st) frown lines across my forehead and above my eyebrows
2nd) crows feet around the eyes
3rd) minor acne scars/pores in the region just below eyes and to the sides of the nose and on the nose
4th) rejuvenating the entire facial skin.

Clinics have offered a confusing variety of treatments and it's difficult to tell what works and what doesn't (`snakeoils'). I'd appreciate if members can share their experience/knowledge and suggest which ones to consider and to avoid. I'm looking only for treatments which require either a single session or which can be completed in two weeks. Below is a list of treatments, feel free to suggest others if they're not below:
Aptos Instant Face and Neck Lift
Aramis Laser
Botox *will avoid this one*
Carboxy
CO2 laser
Derma RF
Derma Roller Rejuvenate
Diamond peel
Diamond Treatment (Microdermabrasion)
Facelift by Phonophoresis
Fractional Erbium Laser (fraxel)
Fractional Laser (Finescan)
Fraxel Fine
Futur Tec: Skin Master
Galaxy FotoFacial RF
Iontophoresis
IPL (cool laser, Photorejuvenation)
Laser facial rejuvenation
Melite laser
Mesotherapy
Micro Crystal
N-lite laser
Non-surgical Face Lift
Omnilight
Perfecta (V-Beam)
Perlane
Phonophoress
Polaris
Quantum CACI: Face Lifting
Restylane/Perlane
RF Lift
Skin Resurfacing with Burane
Spectra VRM
Thermage
Thermage mini/DCT
Tripolar RF
Yellow Dual Laser

Thanks and cheers,
Rick.

First off: Before you try any of those procedures, have you tried any cosmetic products for your skin? I'm using this Kiehl's Bological Peel and I don't think it'll do much with lines but it may help make spots and light wrinkles go away while brightening your skin in general. And if that doesn't work, just return it (if you bought it from a Kiehl's store) and you'll get a full refund. In terms of procedures, I don't know anything so I can't help you there. However, I will say that you should just keep the procedures to a minimum since your skin isn't going to look any better at 40 or 50 if you're relying on them. Having a good diet and being healthy in general should help you preserve your skin quality, even if you don't see immediate results.

Most laser treatments I'm familiar with take at least 3 sessions to complete and the resulting redness/hyperpigmentation from each treatment usually lasts anywhere from 2-4 weeks. So there's really no quick fix. Sounds like your situation isn't that bad, so you probably don't need an ablative procedure. But still, it's time-consuming. If you haven't yet tried any facial products, then I'd agree with what the other members have stated.

Hi all and thanks for replying.

I am using facial cosmetic products:
daily: face wash and moisturizer (morning and night)
every 3-4 days: exfoliate with a scrub

This works well, but I would like to treat frown lines and wrinkles which a face wash/scrub routine doesn't address.

Cheers,
Rick.

Before doing any in-office treatments, you should try dietary changes and a product containing Retin-A or Matrixyl.
