writing samples for potential legal job?

So I'm interviewing for an IP paralegal position at a firm where I've had a few interviews with the partners and have been informed that they are seriously considering me. They asked for writing samples and I was wondering if any of those in the law field could suggest what sort of things work best? Nothing I have is particularly complicated, due to the fact that at my previous job I worked in-house (one client). Thanks for any help.

A nice memo or motion should be good. Maybe a motion to compel? http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=127804

those would all be good, except that i really have not been involved in litigation. Most of what I have involves instructions to foreign counsel, contract requests, clarifications with the USPTO. things of that nature.

I would suggest a sample memo that demonstrates you can write clearly and coherently. With proper grammar and spelling. It is amazing how many lawyers cannot write.

What's wrong with using any of the aforementioned fine samples?

i ended up using an inter-office memo and a contract update. the problem with a lot of them is that they were too short. in any case, this is only a paralegal position so i'm hoping they just want to see my grasp of language and grammar. hope it works!
