Having it now with ice. Very nice, but has a burn to it. I may let it sit a while to let the ice take some of the edge off. I don't know much about rye, so I cannot really differentiate the flavors, but it's definitely different from the only other rye (Russel's Reserve) I've had.

Rye can be very similar to bourbon, except that it has grassier notes and, generally, tastes a little "rougher" to people who are used to bourbon. This roughness is just the spiciness of rye which is not present in bourbon, which we know is made maily of corn.

I don't detect the "grassy" side of rye in the Michter's that I did in the Russel's Reserve, which was very distinct. I do like it though..
